Why Do We Play This Game
You can find us every Friday
From September up til May
On a softball field at Land of Lakes
In a game we love to play
And we’re not alone, far from it
For if the truth be told
There are dozens more just like us
And every one is old!!
We each play for different reasons
For this game gets in your heart
Is it the exercise? Camaraderie?
Yes, but that is just the start
Competition is the real allure
We claim it’s all for fun
But trust me we all play to win
Be it Crawl, or Walk, or Run
And there’s a lot of each I promise
Mishaps are commonplace
Some weeks it seems that half the league
Wears a sling, a mask, or brace
And our league is rife with drama
It’s a soap opera with a ball
But that’s a sidebar to our interest
Comic relief would be my call
So why do we play this game you ask
Here’s my take on it then:
Because if only for a couple hours ..
We can feel like kids again

MINUTES OF GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
MARCH 14, 2024
B. Uniforms and softballs are paid for next year
C. Our financial situation is the result of our aggressive obtaining of sponsors this year.
VII. Old Business
Al Williamson is donating used (found) golf balls to the League. The League is then selling them for $1. Please send Jeff or Denny an email or text you want any. He has hundreds. Apparently the vast majority are Titleist Pro-V.
Great money maker for the league.
The Board
"When an umpire ejects a player or coach, the said player or coach must vacate the dugout immediately. If the Game Official deems this to be a flagrant violation, the ejected player or coach must leave the premise and must do so immediately. If the ejected player or coach fails to comply, said player's or coach's team will forfeit the game. Any ejection brings an automatic one game suspension, effective immediately, which includes no participation in any and all NTBSS activities during the suspension. The Board will decide if and when said player or coach will be reinstated after serving the suspension."
Effective October 6, 2023, timed games will be seventy minutes long. This is a changed from sixty minutes. The game procedure for timed games did not change.
1. Effective September 22, the two games in the double header will be timed. (one hour) The third and fourth games will NOT be timed.
2. The Flip-Flop rule is in effect, starting September 22. If the visiting team is ahead by fifteen or more runs at the conclusion of the home half of the sixth inning, the home team will bat again. If they do not tie or go ahead of the visiting team, the game is over and the visiting team wins. If the home team goes ahead or ties the game, the visiting team bats. Tie breaker rule is still in effect.
3. The scoring line will be re-chalked between games
4. Sponsors have been added to the team names.
